PROUD OF THE TRADITION OF THE CAPITAL'S ARMED FORCES –
FOLLOWING IN OUR FOREFATHERS' FOOTSTEPS, STEPPING CONFIDENTLY INTO THE FUTURE
On the morning of Monday, 5 October 2026, during the weekly flag-raising assembly, Nam Phu Primary and Secondary School held a programme for all its staff, teachers and students to mark the Traditional Day of the Capital's Armed Forces. The programme aimed to foster patriotism, national pride, resilience and an indomitable spirit, and to teach the younger generation about the nation's revolutionary traditions.
🌿 The school was honoured to welcome the following guests:
- Mr Tran Van Long, Vice Chairman of the Nam Phu Commune Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairman of the Nam Phu Commune Veterans' Association
- Mr Dang Xuan Doanh, Secretary of the Nam Phu Commune Youth Union
- Mr Vu Ngoc Tuyen, Political Commissar and Deputy Head of the Nam Phu Commune Military Command
- Mr Do Duy Hung, Deputy Commander of the Nam Phu Commune Military Command
- Members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Nam Phu Commune Veterans' Association, and officers of the Nam Phu Commune Military Command
Representing the school, Ms Nguyen Thi Yen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Principal, attended the programme. She was joined by a large number of staff and teachers and 2,034 students.
✨ During the programme, teachers and students listened to Mr Vu Ngoc Tuyen, who shared meaningful stories about the glorious traditions of the Capital's Armed Forces. He spoke of the heroic achievements and sacrifices of generations of soldiers and officers in the struggle for national liberation and in building and defending the Capital.
These true and moving stories helped students better understand the value of independence and peace. They also gave students a deeper appreciation of the sacrifices made by earlier generations. The stories strengthened in them the time-honoured Vietnamese moral principle of "When drinking water, remember its source", which means remembering and honouring those who came before.
❤️ The programme was more than a meaningful history lesson at school. It was also an opportunity to inspire in every student a sense of pride, gratitude and responsibility as a member of today's younger generation. Inspired by the heroic history written by their forefathers, the students will continue to work hard in their studies and personal development. They will strive to live with purpose and responsibility, and to help build their homeland, the Capital and the country into an ever more prosperous, beautiful and civilised place.
